X Trench Run
X Trench Run drops a small fighter into a narrow trench in space. The ship is always moving forward, so there is no chance to slow down and study the course. Walls, laser barriers, turrets, and enemy attacks appear along the way, forcing you to make quick decisions.
The beginning is fairly manageable. Stay in the open space, avoid the walls, and get used to the ship's movement. After that, the pace starts to pick up and the gaps become harder to pass.
Find an Opening
You can move the ship with WASD or the Arrow Keys. Moving left or right is often enough to get around a wall, but some sections require you to move up or down as well.
Don't wait until an obstacle fills the screen. Look at the next part of the trench and move toward an open area before you run out of space. If two paths look dangerous, backing away for a moment can be safer than forcing the ship forward.
Turrets are another problem. They can fire while you are dealing with the course, so destroying one when you have a clear shot can make the next section easier.
Use Your Weapon
Press Spacebar or Left Click to fire. Shooting is useful for turrets, gates, and enemies that get in your way.
You still need to watch your position while firing. Focusing too much on a target can make you miss an incoming wall, especially once the trench starts moving faster.
Boss Sections
Boss fights change the pace of a run. There is more to watch, and attacks can come from different directions. Rather than staying in one place and firing continuously, move around and wait for a safe chance to attack.
A few failed attempts can be useful here. Once you recognize a boss's attack pattern, you can start moving before the danger reaches you.

X Trench Run is easy to pick up but becomes demanding once the speed increases. It works for quick runs as well as longer attempts at beating a personal score. The game is playable directly in the browser, with the current build checked periodically for basic compatibility and stability.
