The elevator isn't your only problem in Last Light. The underground laboratory is packed with mutated creatures, and reaching the surface means getting through seven floors without running out of supplies. This 2D zombie survival game mixes exploration, shooting, and base defense, so there's more to worry about than what's lurking around the next corner.
Choose Easy, Normal, or Hard before starting a run. Once inside, search research desks and abandoned rooms for coins and keycards. Some doors won't open until you find the right card, so exploring side rooms can be worth the extra risk.
Stairs and elevators connect different levels of the facility. Keep track of where you find useful items, especially switches and locked doors. Getting lost wastes time you might need later.
Electricity keeps the laboratory's lights, doors, and elevators running. Overload the system, and alarms can sound while zombies break into the facility. You'll need to locate basement switches and restore power before the situation gets worse.
The danger changes when night arrives. Mutants become more aggressive, and a quiet corridor can turn into a fight quickly. Coins collected from enemies and containers let you improve weapons, upgrade your character, and build defenses. Spend them carefully instead of buying every upgrade you see.
WASD: Move around the laboratory and between floors.
Right mouse button: Aim your weapon.
Left mouse button: Shoot.
R: Reload.
E: Interact with objects.
Shift: Move faster.
Check rooms thoroughly while you have time. Keycards can open new routes, and finding a power switch before an emergency may save you from being trapped in the dark. Keep enough ammunition for encounters, too; running out during a mutant attack is a problem you don't want.
Fans of zombie action can also check out Undead Invasion and Hell Knight.
Seven floors might not sound like much, but each one brings another chance to lose your supplies or get surrounded. In Last Light, finding the exit matters—but staying alive long enough to reach it is the real challenge.
